Natural humic acids: the wealth of earth

<Enter article excerpt>

Humic acids have matured in the country for millions of years. They originated from dead plants, so-called humification. In their structure, they contain all the minerals that are easily used in the body.

Plants, animals but also the human body will choose from them what it needs. When the body is in the right balance, all the processes in it work properly, including the immune system.

Humic acid molecules are too large to enter the bloodstream, so they are only found in the digestive tract at all times. After using the necessary minerals, a place is released in the humic acid where various toxins and heavy metals can be trapped.

With the regular use of humic acids, the adsorbed toxins and heavy metals are efficiently removed from the body together with undigested food.

What are humic acids?

Humic acids are natural organic substances. They are formed by the chemical and biological decomposition of organic matter of plant origin and the synthetic activity of microorganisms. Together with fulvic acids and humin, they are among the humic substances that are part of humus. They are based on lignin together with other components of plant biomass (sugars, fats, proteins, waxes, and resins).

Even more detailed are humic acid polymeric aromatic macromolecules in which the linkages between the aromatic groups are provided by amino acids, sugars, peptides, and aliphatic compounds. They contain primarily carboxyl groups, but also include carbonyl, quinone, semiquinone, hydroxyl, ester, and amide groups. The complex structure of humic acids makes them practically insoluble in water and at the same time shows high biological activity.

Traces of humic acids are found in nature in stagnant waters, and sandy and clay soils. Larger quantities are in the healing muds, in the topsoil, and most in the peat and lignite. However, their richest natural resources are oxyhumolites, which are 50-80%. Oxihumolites are formed from lignite or brown coal with access to air and a sufficient amount of water.

A mud with a high content of humic acids is also used in balneotherapy. Today, it is used to relieve a large number of health problems. Already in the past, mud was added to the wounds on the body, because thanks to humic acids it helped the healing.

By observing wild animals, we can notice that they consume a certain amount of clay for various problems, especially digestive ones. It also contains humic acids, which animals can sense.

If humic acids are contained in manure, they can improve the quality of soil and cultivated plants.

Influence of humic acids on immune support

Immunity is a complicated system of processes, cells, and organs that together protect the body from the adverse effects of various pathogens. The immune system is working around the clock. Various threats are constantly being checked and eliminated in our bodies.

The effect of humic acids on the body's immune system is related to the ability of these substances to form relatively strong complexes with carbohydrates, amino acids, and peptides. These complexes in the body allow the production of glycoproteins that bind to the surface of NK cells and T-lymphocytes. In this way, they can regulate their functions, including the production of cytokines, which serve to communicate between other immune cells and influence immune responses.

Humic acids also effectively help increase the activity of phagocytes and their capacity to absorb pathogens. However, this feature is highly time-dependent. It is most pronounced in the first month of humic acid use. Later, phagocyte activity decreases.

The ability of humic acids to affect the immune system lies in regulating immune activity and preventing overactivity. They, therefore, serve as immunomodulators.

Most of the immune responses are located in the intestines, so the digestive system is exposed to a large number of pathogens.

Humic acids support the formation of a protective film on the intestinal epithelium (mucin), which affects the health of the intestinal system. This film protects the penetration of pathogens and toxins into the body and helps better absorption of nutrients.

Restoring the balance of minerals in the bodyLiebig's law of the minimum illustrating the effect of trace elements... | Download Scientific Diagram

For the body to function properly, it is necessary to achieve balance in the body. The effect of the lack of some elements, although all the others are sufficient, captures the "Law of the minimum" very well. It was first published by Justus von Liebig in 1840.

A wooden barrel can be used to illustrate the concept of this law. Each barrel part represents the level of a certain element in the body. The amount of water in the barrel is limited by the height of the lowest part. And even if all the other parts are raised, the problem caused by the lowest will persist. It is similar in the body, where problems can be caused by low levels of a vitamin or mineral. Even though a person regularly replenishes them with various supplements. To prevent health problems, it is important to set the necessary levels for all elements in the body.

The human body can determine well what it is missing. Therefore, it is basically enough to provide him with access to a wide range of substances and he will choose them himself.

Natural humic acids contain more than 70 different elements in their structure, which are bound mainly by chelate bonds. A chelate bond is most often a metal bond with various groups of organic substances. Thus, chelates differ from standard organic and inorganic forms of minerals.

Thanks to these bonds, the elements are very tightly bound, but they are the most suitable and easily accessible for the organism in terms of absorption and use. During the digestion process, reactions take place in which the body simply selects the necessary elements and releases them from the humic acid structure. In this way, the organism itself regulates the levels of individual elements and achieves their correct balance.

Detoxification of the organism

Humic acids have a polyanionic character, which means that they form bonds with ions by various mechanisms. Inorganic metal cations in particular bind well. These in the structure of humic acid replace the protons of the carboxyl and phenolic groups or occupy free sites after the elements have been released into the body. Metal cations are bound by strong bonds in the structure of humic acid, thanks to which they are eliminated from the body together with humic acids.

As the molecular weight of humic acids increases, so does the ability to bind metals. This allows them to be used for detoxification in poisoning by heavy metals such as mercury, cadmium, nickel, lead, chromium, or arsenic. In addition to metals, they also bind other toxic compounds of endogenous and exogenous origin, e.g. microbial toxins, mycotoxins, phytotoxins, ammonia, PCBs, dioxins, benzopyrenes, and others that may occur in the diet or the environment.

By binding to humic acids, they become inaccessible to the body and leave with undigested food. Because humic acid molecules are too large to enter the bloodstream, they remain in the body primarily in the digestive tract, which they leave with undigested food within 24 hours of ingestion. Thanks to this property, the redistribution of toxins and heavy metals is not a problem, and therefore humic acids are ideal for detoxification and cleansing the body.

Humic acids in HUMAC® products

Our company has been researching humic acids since 2008 to develop products with a high natural humic acid content. During our existence, we have managed to create a range of products that contribute to the recovery of the entire food chain: soil - plants - animals - products - people.

Many years of experience in the research and development of these products have led us to the creation of a technological process for activating substances without the need for chemical additives. This process supports the effects of humic acids and preserves their 100% natural strength. Find out more about HUMAC® products here.
